I tell people to get NOS all the time, but I won't feel responsible when someone blows their engine using it (as a side note I do give warnings when selling potentially harmful products). Everyone has their own opinion. When we modify our cars we take our own risks and the blame for anything that may go wrong rests on the owner of the vehicle and no one else. Wes might think it's a great idea to drive in reverse and then throw the tranny into first because it leaves a rubber trail. When someone else does it and destroys their tranny doing it it is their own fault. UD pulleys absolutely free up HP, there should be no dispute about that. It's a risk just like several other mods: NOS, turbos, ALC, ECU, intake, etc.
